Presentation of L’Oustal Junior Highschool L’Oustal is a Vocational Rural Private Junior Highschool which welcomes about 250 pupils from 13 to 19 years-old. This is a human size school which allows us to provide individual listening, guidance and accompanying. Our tasks: • educate and make the pupils aware of their responsibilities, • train youngsters to community life with its rules and constraints, and its forces that are mutual aid, solidarity, sharing and tolerance, •help pupils to enter professional and civic life in the future, • make them know and implement everybody’s rights and obligations.
The educational and teaching staff give our pupils close accompanying in order to help them feel recognized and supported in their personal development, and to enhance their abilities and skills. We closely collaborate with families or educators of our pupils. The vocational course in Services to People and Territories make them discover a wide range of professional fields. It mainly deals with tourism, organization of local and cultural events, services to people, health. We prepare them to work in the rural environment. They are characterized by a deep social, cultural, economic and sociological diversity. During the course, they have several training periods which make them discover various publics (young children, elderlies, disabled people, persons who face social difficulties) but they also organize events on the territory. Educational input brought together with training periods and various projects make young adults that are ready to work, to take competitive exams or to pursue higher education in the social or health fields.
